The outdoor unit has a heated base that prevents ice from forming, and a defrost mode that keeps the heat pump running through hard winters.

What does Nepura have over the rest?

Defrost in hard frost

Daikin's Nepura heat pumps are specially designed for the cold found in the Nordic countries. They have a dedicated defrost mode so the heat pump works even through the hardest winters. When there is heavy frost outside, the defrost mode makes sure the outdoor unit does not freeze, so the heat pump can keep working as it does in summer.

Smart airflow

Sitting in the airflow of a heat pump can be uncomfortable. Nepura's smart sensors make sure that does not happen by directing the airflow away from you. If no people are detected, the heat pump automatically switches to an energy-saving mode.

When the heat pump detects another heat source, it switches off the outdoor unit but keeps circulating the air indoors, to make the most of the other heat source, such as a wood stove or fireplace.
