The website www.verklagnir.is (the “Site”) is owned and operated by Verklagnir ehf., Icelandic reg. no. (kt.) 460199-2479, VAT no. 60850, Krókháls 5A, 3rd floor, 110 Reykjavik, Iceland (“Verklagnir”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Certain parts of the Site may be subject to additional rules or guidelines posted on the Site, which form part of these Terms.

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Site. By viewing or using the Site, or by accepting the Terms when asked to, you agree to them on behalf of yourself or the entity you represent, and you confirm that you have the authority to do so. You must be at least 18 years old to use any part of the Site that requires registration. If you do not agree to the Terms, please do not use the Site.

1. About the Site and its relationship to other terms

1.1

The Site provides information about Verklagnir’s products and services, including heat pumps and related equipment, and lets you send enquiries and service requests, use a digital advisor, register for events and create a user account.

1.2

These Terms apply to the use of the Site itself. Purchases of products and services are governed by the quotation or order confirmation from Verklagnir, Verklagnir’s terms of sale and warranty (www.verklagnir.is/abyrgdarskilmalar). These Terms do not limit consumers’ statutory rights.

1.3

Information on the Site is of a general nature and provided for guidance. Descriptions, technical data, images, prices and product availability may change without notice and are not binding offers. Verklagnir reserves the right to correct errors. No binding contract is formed until Verklagnir has confirmed a quotation or order in writing.

2. User accounts

2.1

Creating an account. Some parts of the Site, such as event registration, require a user account. Accounts are intended for work email addresses. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep it up to date. An account does not become active until the email address has been verified.

2.2

Account security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. If you believe someone has gained unauthorised access, notify us without delay. We are not liable for loss resulting from your credentials reaching unauthorised persons through your negligence.

2.3

Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time under “My account” on the Site. If you are the sole organiser of a group registration for an upcoming event, you must first appoint a new organiser or cancel the group registration.

2.4

Suspension. We may suspend or restrict your access if you breach the Terms, if we suspect misuse or a security threat, or if the law requires it.

3. Use of the Site

3.1

Licence. Subject to the Terms, Verklagnir grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to view and use the Site for your own use.

3.2

Restrictions. You may not: (i) sell, rent, lease, transfer, distribute or commercially exploit the Site or its content without our written permission; (ii) modify, copy, disassemble or attempt to derive the source code of the Site, except as permitted by law; (iii) use automated tools (such as crawlers or bots) to harvest content or load-test the Site; (iv) interfere with the operation of the Site, its security systems or usage limits (such as rate limits on forms); or (v) use the Site in a way that violates the law or the rights of others.

3.3

Content you send us. You are responsible for ensuring that information, images and documents you send through forms or attachments are accurate, lawful and free of malware, and that you have the right to send them. Please do not send sensitive personal data (for example health information) or information about other people without their authorisation. By sending us content you permit Verklagnir to use it to respond to your enquiry, provide services or process your request, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

3.4

Changes to the Site. We may modify, temporarily suspend or discontinue the Site or any part of it at any time, with or without notice. We have no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the Site.

4. Forms, service requests and the digital advisor

4.1

Enquiries and service requests. An enquiry or service request you send through the Site is not a binding contract. We aim to reply within a reasonable time but do not guarantee a specific response time.

4.2

Digital advisor. Verklagnir’s digital advisor is an automated aid based on artificial intelligence, intended to simplify choosing a heat pump. The advisor can make mistakes. Its suggestions are for guidance only, are not offers, are not a substitute for an expert assessment of your property and create no commitments for Verklagnir. Our specialists review suggestions before they are followed up. We recommend that you obtain an expert’s confirmation before deciding to purchase or install anything.

4.3

Events. Registration for events on the Site is subject to availability and the terms of the relevant event. Whoever registers a group is responsible for informing the participants of the registration and of how their personal data is handled. We may change, postpone or cancel an event and will notify registered participants.

5. Intellectual property

5.1

All intellectual property rights in the Site and its content, including text, images, videos, design, trademarks, logos and software, belong to Verklagnir or its licensors and are protected by Icelandic law and international treaties. The Terms give you no ownership rights beyond the limited right of use in Section 3.1.

5.2

Trademarks, names and logos of third parties (for example manufacturers) appearing on the Site belong to their respective owners. You may not use them without the owner’s written permission.

5.3

If you send us feedback or suggestions about the Site or our services, Verklagnir may use them freely and without restriction, without crediting you.

6. Privacy and cookies

6.1

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy (www.verklagnir.is/personuverndarstefna), which describes what personal data we collect, for what purposes, how long we keep it, with whom we share it and what rights you have.

6.2

Information about cookies and similar technologies on the Site, and how you can change your choices, is available at www.verklagnir.is/vafrakokur.

7. Links and third-party services

7.1

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or embed third-party content (such as maps, videos and search services). We do not control such content, are not responsible for it and do not necessarily endorse it. The terms and privacy policy of the relevant third party apply to its use.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

8.1

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that the Site will be available without interruption, error-free or free of malware, or that information on it is fully accurate or complete.

8.2

To the extent permitted by law, Verklagnir is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, loss of working time or data loss, arising from use of the Site or inability to use it.

8.3

Nothing in the Terms excludes or limits our liability for intent or gross negligence, for personal injury, or for liability that cannot be excluded by law. Consumers’ statutory rights remain unaffected.

8.4

You agree to compensate Verklagnir for loss caused by your breach of the Terms or of the law in connection with your use of the Site, to the extent permitted by law.

9. Changes to the Terms and duration

9.1

We may update the Terms. If we make material changes we will post a notice on the Site or, if you have a user account, email the address on file. Continued use after a change has been published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9.2

The Terms apply for as long as you use the Site. Sections 3.3, 5, 8, 10 and 11 continue to apply after use ends.

10. General provisions

10.1

Electronic communications. By using the Site you agree that we may communicate with you electronically (by email or notices on the Site). Such communications satisfy any requirement for written notice.

10.2

Accessibility. Verklagnir endeavours to make the Site accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities, in line with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. If you have difficulty using the Site or have accessibility suggestions, contact info@verklagnir.is or +354 517 0270.

10.3

Entire agreement and severability. The Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and other policies referred to in them, are the entire agreement between you and Verklagnir regarding use of the Site. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to exercise a right under a provision is not a waiver of that right. You may not assign your rights or obligations under the Terms without our written consent.

10.4

Copyright. © 2026 Verklagnir ehf. All rights reserved.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

11.1

The Terms and the use of the Site are governed by Icelandic law.

11.2

If a dispute arises, the parties shall first try to resolve it through discussion. If that fails, the dispute shall be brought before the District Court of Reykjavik (Héraðsdómur Reykjavíkur). This provision does not limit a consumer’s right to bring a case before the court prescribed by law, or to turn to the Complaints Committee on Goods and Services Purchases (www.kvth.is).

12. Language

12.1

These Terms of Use are issued in both Icelandic and English. The Icelandic language version shall govern the relationship between the parties, and in the event of any conflict or contradiction, the Icelandic version shall take precedence in all respects. This English text is a translation provided for convenience.
